Sonoko Obuchi
Multimedia Artist
Multi Dimensions
Sonoko's works are often of a person, people, and relationships, exploring identity in distorted dimensions - capturing a flash of a moment in hours or drawing in portraits, translating intangible stories into artworks, and forgotten / unlived journeys into theatrical designs and video designs.
'My Life in Stitches'
exhibition artworks
'My Life in Stitches' is a powerful exploration of resilience and transformation through art. Sonoko's exhibition reflects her personal journey of healing, including her teenager’s ongoing battle with depression since Covid, a move from London to the rural countryside, and the process of reconnecting with herself.
Through embroidery, leather art, fabric painting, video art, and photography, she captures both the emotional and physical aspects of mending. This exhibition is more than just art; it is a story of survival, growth, and shared hope.
